If it is sealed properly, you should not need to use any abrasives, or have that many issues…

As for vinegar – that product is mildly acidic and I would not recomend it… If used, it should only be used in moderation, watered down & rinsed away thourghly

Thanks for an informative post. I know that sealing the grout is a good idea and that it protects it from stains. You say that it should be renewed about every year, which makes sense. I do try to clean mine once per week, but it is tough to maintain such a rigorous schedule. I am sometimes afraid to clean it too vigorously in case I might wear off the sealer so I try to use only mild abrasives. I have heard that vinegar works well for soap scum. Do you recommend this?
